RIVER OF DIAMONDS is a poetry/pop duo from Halifax. Their debut album 'Photon Touch' delivers spoken lyrics with a pop sensibility. Infused with ideas of world-making, images of space light, fishing birds, lost bees and smashed TVs, this new poetry by Michelle Elrick is both deep-thought and light-hearted. Producer Michael Belyea, best known as a drummer with artists such as Jenn Grant, Michael Feuerstack, Paper Beat Scissors and others, has woven Elrick's lyrics with ambient acoustic and synth textures, pop grooves and percussion, creating a sound that is bouncy, bold and entirely new. MICHELLE ELRICK is an award-winning writer and the author of two previous books of poetry including then/again (Nightwood, 2017). She was a finalist for the 2015 CBC Literary Award for Poetry, and her poetry films have screened internationally and on CBC television. MICHAEL BELYEA is a professional drummer and producer based in Eastern Canada. He appears on over 200 studio tracks across many styles including pop, folk, rock, jazz-fusion, prog and punk. Among the many live television and radio appearances and hundreds of concerts, a few of Belyea’s notable live shows include a "Live At Massey Hall" concert and film in 2017, CBC Radio Q sessions in 2017 and 2014, the 2011 Canada Day concert on Parliament Hill and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
